How to Get Approved on AdSense

So you've started a sweet blog and really enjoying blogging. What's next? Obviously you'd like to earn some bucks from it as well. You can't just keep investing money into it without getting anything in return, can you? Obviously not. There are literally more than hundreds ways to earn from a blog.

Most effective ways are Affiliate Marketing and Display Ads. But affiliate marketing is a bit tough and takes really good amount of targeted traffic. So for small or medium traffic blogs, Display Ads are the best way to make money. And when it comes to Display Advertisement, AdSense by Google is the king. It has been leading this field for years. However, getting your blog approved on AdSense is kind of a sweating process. But if you follow these simple steps you can get your blog or website approved on AdSense on first chance.

So here's the non-nonsense guide to get approved on AdSense

I'm gonna keep it short and clean so that instead of wasting your time and energy on reading this article you can invest it in your blog. And if you think I've been a helpful instructor please share this article on your social accounts.

1. Publish around 20-30 Articles : Craft some really high quality posts. High quality means - original, long, grammatically accurate, in-depth articles. You blog should be on a specific niche. Be that anything - travel, foods, gadgets, relationship - whatever. But stick to one category. Don't jump to and fro. If you publish a food recipe today and write a gadget review tomorrow, it's not a good practice. Because, it doesn't really make much sense. The length, however, should be at least 500 words. A post with less than 400 words is not good both in terms of SEO and AdSense approval. Try to extend it to around 700+ words, but 500-600 will do good. Also include media (pictures, infographics etc.). And don't copy-paste images. Use free stock photo sites like Unsplash or Pixabay instead. And also make sure your post is free from grammatical errors (use MS Word or Grammarly).
2. Buy a domain name: It's not really a necessity. But when an AdSense guy reviews your website a domain name gives him/her a professional feel. I had a blog on Google's blogging platform Blogger. By default, blogger blogs come with a .blogspot.com free sub-domain. I applied for AdSense with that sub-domain (I had around 40+ posts then). My application got rejected. Then I bought a .com domain and added around 10-15 posts. I applied again after 2 months and I was in. That being said, I know a few of my friends who don't have any domain yet and still earning good bucks from AdSense. But, obviously their posts are crafted amazingly.
3. Get an elegant theme : Make your blog look professional. If possible buy a professional theme. Otherwise there are thousands of free themes available on the Internet. Just search "free elegant theme for wordpress/blogger/your-blogging-platform". Just choose one and install it to your blog. DO NOT add a lot of widgets and make your homepage a mess. The cleaner the better.
4. Add these pages : Add an about page, a contact page, a privacy policy page and a terms of services pages. In the about page write a bit about your blog, what stuff do your post there and may be a bit about yourself. In the contact page write how can your readers contact you. You may provide your email address or add a contact form (freely available over a google search). And use any free privacy policy or terms of services generator (copy-paste on google) website to create one for you.
5. Revamp your navigation : Make it easy for readers to reach different portions of your website easily from your homepage. Consider adding a top-page menu bar with links to post categories and other important pages like About. Add a popular posts widget. All in all make it so easy that even a dumb can navigate through your blog easily.

Remove other advertising networks: If you want to get approved on AdSense consider removing other ad networks. It doesn't really send a good message to the AdSense guy whos' reviewing your website. According to my experience, these things should be enough to get your blog or website approved on AdSense on first chance. Now get into it. All the very best for your blogging journey.
